Boat trips on the Danube
Enjoy not only a spa holiday on the edge of the Bavarian Forest National Park. The Danube, one of the longest rivers in Europe, reveals itself in its own special way on a boat trip. The Wurm and Köck shipping company based in the three-river city of Passau offers boat trips on the Danube in Bavaria.
The starting point for the three-day Danube boat trip in the Bavarian Forest is Passau. From here on the first day you pass by the Trappist monastery of Engelzell and through the seemingly untouched Upper Danube valley at a leisurely pace. The Schlögen loop is a natural spectacle of this stage of the cruise. The destination of the journey is Linz.
We recommend starting the three-day journey in the morning so that you will have enough time to explore the wonderful city of Linz. Day two of the journey starts at 9.00 am in Linz. After the ship casts off, you pass through what is probably the most varied stretch of the Danube in terms of the countryside. The Strudengau was still feared by sailors just a few decades ago because of its vortices and cliffs. Today it is tame and reveals its nature to boat travellers. During the journey there is a wine tasting with wines from the Wachau and the preparation of Austrian ‘Kaiserschmarrn’. In the evening you are invited to a ‘Sissi’ evening with live music and a 3-course menu. The journey with the ship ends here in Vienna.
The third day is dedicated to Vienna. You will be picked up from the hotel in the morning. Following a tour of the city and a walkabout in the city centre, the journey home begins in the afternoon. The bus arrives back in the three-river city of Passau in the Bavarian Forest at about 9 pm.
Enjoy not only the peace and quiet of a boat trip on the Danube, but also the peace and quiet of the Bavarian Forest. Thanks to our closeness to Passau, we can make you a unique offer. Relax before or after the boat trip in our spa area. If you book two or more nights in our spa hotel, we can make the following service available:
Free use of the underground car park during the boat trip
