From the 1st tee you can enjoy the wonderful panoramic view over Hintereben, Jandelsbrunn and Wollaberg and their church towers, before placing your drive on the well-maintained fairway. The large green is bordered on the left by a small pond. The 18-hole course in Popenreut in the Bavarian Forest captivates not only through its beautiful scenery, however, because the lovingly landscaped course is a challenge to every golfer, whether beginner or professional, despite the wide fairways. A driving range with partly covered tees, a putting green and a pitching green with practice bunkers form the training area of the Poppenreut course in the heart of the Bavarian Forest.
A driving range located in a picturesque forest clearing with partially covered tees as well as several putting and pitching greens with practice bunkers invite you to train here. You need to be an advanced golfer to cope with the higher demands that this course will place on you. You can take lessons at the Max Biebel golf school here. Maximum concentration is required right from the first tee in Waldkirchen - Dorn, because the out-of-bounds limit is very close on the right-hand side and comes into play more often than some golfers would like. However, there isn’t an awful lot of room on the left-hand side either. Once you’ve overcome the ‘Feldherrn’ hill, dense woodland runs alongside the entire fairway.
Alone, in pairs, with family or friends, whether beginner or professional and whatever your age, it’s always exciting to experience this demanding 18 & 6-hole golf course on the outskirts of the cultural city of Passau. Over brooks and ponds teeming with fish, between deciduous and coniferous forests in lovely valleys – a course that has been captured by nature over a period of almost 20 years.
The course at the Golfclub am Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald e.V. is shaped by the unspoilt scenery of the first German national park. The golf course is situated in the heart of one of the leading European recreational landscapes. If you fancy a couple of hours of golf, this is the right place. Everything from trial lessons, beginner’s courses and individual lessons to proficiency certificate I, proficiency certificate II or intensive courses are offered in the Bavarian Forest National Park by the golf school of Michael Westall, who trained as a PGA golf professional in England.
